Building Backlinks For Your Website

If you are hoping to boost your website's success through search engine optimization, one thing there is a very good chance you have learned is that backlinks (that is, the links from other sites that point back to your site) are among the most important SEO elements, but even understanding this, you may have left yourself imagining that there is really nothing you can do to build backlinks on your own; realize, however, that this is not at all the case!

Writing articles for article sites, and including a link in each article that points back to your site, is one of the best ways for you to build backlinks; when you do this, you will leave behind links for people to click on - which can bring traffic your way - and you will be creating backlinks with these links, and will boost your search engine ranking as a result!

Taking advantage of such social media sites as Twitter, Digg, and facebook is another great way for you to build backlinks; make sure you are making it easy for people to share the content of your site with others in these areas, and you will start seeing a big difference in your search engine ranking as a result.

And finally, you should be aware of the fact that you are far more likely to gain links when you are linking to others; most people monitor where their traffic comes from, and after they have visited your site to see why you linked to them - and after they have subsequently explored some of your content - there will be a good chance they will link to you in return, thus creating a valuable backlink.

When you are working on optimizing your website through search engine optimization, make sure you are always being creative - realizing that there are a lot of little things you can do to help your site, and for each of these little things you do, you will move that much further ahead of your competition!

How To Wash Your Clothes So They Don't Shrink Funny

One of the worst things - when it comes to washing your clothes - is to end up with clean clothes that have shrunk in a funny way. If you are not careful with your clothes, you will end up learning by trial and error - which will leave you having to buy new clothes! A better approach is to learn everything you need to know in order to keep your clothes from shrinking funny, by reading this simple guide.

Especially if the clothes that you are washing are made of cotton, the biggest thing that will cause them to shrink is heat. Even though this thought stays near the front of most people's minds when it comes to drying their clothes, they forget about it when it comes to washing. If your clothes are susceptible to shrinking, washing them using cold water - especially if they are clothes that you have not yet washed before.

The dryer can put your clothes in serious danger of shrinking funny, when it comes to finding a way to dry your clothes. Although it can be difficult to hang up all your clothes, you will want to do this in order to get a feel for which of your clothes are safe to dry.

And even following these precautions, you can still end up having clothes that shrink funny when you wash them in the dryer. Many people take their clothes out of the washing machine and put them directly into the dryer - which is one of the big areas where they mess up. Before you put your clothes in the dryer, you should always separate each article of clothing and shake it out first. When you do this, you will keep the clothes from clumping up together, which will also keep them from drying funny.

Take the time to make sure you are washing and drying your clothes correctly, and you will no longer have to deal with clothes that shrink in a funny way. You will be all set to go as soon as you follow these simple tips.

The Art Of Short Story Writing

You don't have to be an "aspiring novelist" or a working writer to have a desire to write a short story. Many people find short stories to be therapeutic, fun, relaxing, enjoyable. Short story writing can be a great creative outlet during your free time, and it can be a wonderful hobby. At the same time, however, it is not much fun to write short stories if no one will read them!

In modern American literature, few writers were as highly regarded as Kurt Vonnegut. With a vast collection of novels, short stories, and essays that stretched over 50-plus years, Vonnegut's work was highly acclaimed and well regarded. During Vonnegut's writing career, he compiled a list of "rules" that he felt writers should follow when writing short stories. The next few paragraphs capture these ideas of his.

Vonnegut's first two rules dealt with the way you should take care of the reader - first off, by making absolutely sure the reader won't feel like you wasted their time, and secondly, that you give the reader at least one character they can root for. From here, Vonnegut stuck with characters next, saying that each of your characters should want something - even if this "something" is insignificant - and then he said that every sentence should either reveal character or advance action. Vonnegut goes on to tell you that you should make awful things happen to your characters, no matter how sweet they are. This allows the reader to see what the character is made of. He advises writers to start as close to the end as they possibly can, and to write to just please one person. You can understand this last one by realizing that if you write for one person, and that one person loves it, then every other person who has the same tastes as your "one person" will certainly love it also.

Vonnegut's final piece of advice was to give the reader as much information as possible as quickly as possible. "To heck with suspense," he said. He claimed that the reader should always have a complete understanding of what is going on.

Of course, Vonnegut admitted that you can break all of these rules and still create a terrific short story. But if you are going to follow the simple, straightforward writing advice of someone, you could sure do a whole lot worse than Kurt Vonnegut.

Tips For Preparing To Host A Party

If you own a business – regardless of whether it is a small business or a large business – you have probably come to realize that it is difficult for a business of any sort to stay in business if they do not advertise; of course, in simply advertising is not enough either, as you must also make sure that your ads are effective. The return on the money you spend will be great if you are advertising effectively, but if you are not advertising effectively, you may end up spending a lot of money for a very small payout, so read this guide to pick up some tips of what you might be able to do differently when advertising for your business.

Advertising in the right places is extremely important, and while "advertising in the right places" causes many people think of “advertising where lots of people will see or hear the ad," what this really means is advertising in the places where your target audience will be; after all, it is no good to advertise in a magazine that thousands of people read if none of these people will actually be interested in your business!

Once you have figured out who your target audience is and where you should advertise in order to reach them, making sure that you are advertising in the right manner should be your next step; spend some time running focus groups that will help you determine exactly how you should approach your target audience, and this will go a long way in ensuring that your ads are effective.

And even though it might be appealing to try to save money by keeping your ads up for only a short period of time, an advertisement will not take root in anyone's mind unless it is seen or heard many times over, so pay the extra money to keep your ad up long enough for it to truly be effective!

What Are Antioxidants?

Very few people have a desire to be sick, but there are also far too few people who know that antioxidants are one of the best ways to prevent you being sick. The simplest way to explain antioxidants is that they help the body by impairing the oxidation of other molecules. While the word "impair" typically has a negative connotation, you must also remember that there are certain molecules in the body you do not want oxidized. For instance, brain diseases (including even Alzheimer's!) are linked to the oxidation of certain molecules. Antioxidants can also help to fight and even prevent heart disease. Finally, through exercise you can open yourself up to over-oxidation, which can lead to muscle fatigue. Because of all this, it is vital for each person to understand what antioxidants are and to also understand how to get antioxidants into the body.

Some antioxidants are vitamins, such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E. This means that many fruits and vegetables are a great source for antioxidants. If you have a diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables, you will be introducing more antioxidants into your body, and you will be decreasing your body's susceptibility to disease.

Another great source of antioxidants is fish. By eating certain fish - with salmon, grouper, and flounder among the best of them - you can help your body a ton by giving it antioxidants along with important proteins and minerals. You can even increase your intake of antioxidants further by cooking the fish in extra virgin olive oil.

Dark chocolate, red wine, and green tea are three of the easiest ways by which you can get antioxidants into your body. While wine and chocolate are not good for your body when consumed in excess, both are very helpful if you take them in small doses. And as for green tea, it is a thoroughly relaxing way by which to introduce extra antioxidants into your body. Each of these is an easy, pain-free way to introduce antioxidants into your body, and to consequently keep yourself healthier.

Even though it is easy to not pay attention to what we put into our bodies, it is nearly as easy to actually pay attention! And in addition to being relatively easy, paying attention to what you put into your body will keep you healthy, and it will increase your enjoyment of life.

Getting Started On Beezid

If you are wanting to get great deals on gift cards or other products on Beezid (or any similar site) - either because you plan to use these items yourself, or because you are hoping to turn around and sell them online for profit - it will be important that you know a few things before you get started; after all, as wonderful as penny auction sites can be, they can also be dangerous if you do not know how to use them in such a way that they work to your advantage.

The first thing you need to do, before you sign up for an account on Beezid, is understand how penny auctions work; basically, you pay for a certain number of bids (for instance, you might buy 500 bids at 50 cents per bid - for a cost of $250), and each time you bid on an item, time will be added onto the auction, and the cost of the item will go up one cent - and in this way, you can end up buying expensive items for hardly anything at all if you win an auction (less the cost of the bids you spent during the course of the auction!).

Once you have both taken the time to understand the basic premise of penny auction sites, and to get a more in-depth understanding of how they work (and of how people use them to their advantage), you will want to use a promo code when you sign up for your account; if you do not have a promo code from an advertisement, do a Google search for Beezid promo codes, as this will help you to start out with a handful of free bids - which will enable you to test things out without risking money.

And once you have set up your account and collected a handful of promo bids, take plenty of time to start watching how everything works, and to practice on some smaller items, before you move on to those big items you are hoping to score.

When you approach Beezid (or any other penny auction site, for that matter!) in this manner, you will be able to ensure that you are truly being a competitive buyer, instead of simply donating your money to the website itself!

An Easy Way to Win Your Fantasy Football League

Around the world fantasy football players are very excited that an NFL season is about to start up. When owners locked out the players early this year a cancelled season looked ever more likely. A new collective bargaining agreement was thankfully hammered out instead. The labor peace will be kept for at least ten more years thanks to the new pact. This also means that fantasy football players will not have to worry about another missed season for quite some time. Fantasy players everywhere are scrambling to find information in order to win their league though since the season came up on everyone so quickly.

This is why this year, more than any other year, it is important to get the Fantasy Football Almanac 2011. Any fantasy player will find the information packed into this almanac crucial to a successful year. The statistics for all players in the NFL are expertly organized in this book. The best choices at their positions are broken down by using these statistics. Once these choices are identified, a draft strategy can be formulated to make sure the best possible team gets drafted. This strategy is the most important part of the championship team you can build.

Fantasy Football Almanac 2011 The Essential Fantasy Football Reference Guide.

The almanac will be crucial over the rest of your season too, not just while drafting. A season long bunch of key pickups is important too. Keeping tabs on the players that you think will be the sleepers this year will be easy with the almanac. Add them to your team by picking them up whenever is appropriate. The almanac is something many fantasy players swear by. Make sure to pick it up this year before you draft, especially considering the short time frame between the season and draft day. The bottom of your league standings is somewhere you won't be any longer.

Consider a Chinchilla as Your Next Pet

An exotic animal that is gaining ground in the pet industry is the chinchilla. Chinchillas look like a cross between a rabbit and a grey squirrel. Chinchillas fur is incredibly soft and they do require a bit of special care because of it. Chinchillas originally came from the Andes Mountains in South America. They were introduced into North America for their fur to create blankets and clothing. Chinchillas are slowly becoming known as pets now.

Make sure you learn about chinchilla care before you purchase one. Chinchillas are often very quiet animals that prefer to keep to themselves. They appreciate a large multilevel cage with many hiding areas so they can be shy when a stranger is around. Chinchillas can be taken outside of their cages for exercise but it is advisable to do it in a room where there are no electrical cords to chew on, and not a lot of furniture to get behind.

Chinchillas are not readily litter box trained so also be very aware of that. Because they are not easily litter box trained some people prefer to confine them to linoleum floors when they let their chinchilla our to roam. You can provide your chinchilla the opportunity to do some grooming when you let them out of their cage. Unlike almost any other pet chinchillas should not get wet. When a chinchilla's coat gets wet your chinchilla can get skin problems because of it. Chinchillas fine coat actually needs a dust bath. Chinchilla Dust can be poured into a bowl for your chinchilla to roll around in. This can be done twice a week or so to help keep their coat clean.

As far as food goes, there are a number of commercially produced chinchilla foods, and offering hay is also a good option. Recycled paper bedding is one of the best things you can use for bedding. Many pet stores will carry this bedding specifically because it is such a good option. Try to avoid pine and cedar shavings because they contain chemicals that may be harmful to your pet.

Two Great Summer Reads (That Are Even Better Together!)

One of the favorite pastimes of summer is kicking back – on the beach, or by the pool – and reading a great book; but just because a book is a “great book” does not necessarily mean that it is a great summer book, as a great summer book should be short enough to be read in bits and pieces while being absorbing enough to keep you mesmerized. While this description is certainly fulfilled by a number of different books, here are two books in particular – and when you read these two books together, the effect will even be amplified!

One of the two books in question is a classic (after all, it is always best to blend a classic with a modern novel!), and you may have even ready it before; it is The Old Man and the Sea. When high school students are forced to read this book for class, many of them fail to grasp why the book is so highly regarded – but read this book during a lazy summer day while relaxing by a pool or on the beach, and you will surely understand!

The modern novel that is such a tremendous compliment to The Old Man and the Sea is The Great Lenore, which was released this very summer, garnering tremendous reviews. The Great Lenore is the story about a woman who is falsely reported dead, and who uses this as an opportunity to start a new life; the book is set along the beaches of Nantucket, and the ease of reading combined with the magnificent beauty of the story makes The Great Lenore a perfect selection when you are going to be spending time at the beach or at a pool.

You can find great deals on Amazon for both The Old Man and the Sea and The Great Lenore, and when you pick up these two titles and indulge in them during the summer, you will be able to understand exactly what people mean when they talk about experiencing tremendous summer reading experiences!

Improving Your Soccer Skills

You might think that there is no need to learn how to improve your soccer skills if you do not play competitive soccer - but at the same time, most parents have children who play soccer, and it is always beneficial to know how to help these children improve, and what's more, most adults are always on the lookout for something "fun" that they can do (for something to get them away from responsibilities and from "being an adult" for a bit!), and organizing an indoor soccer team is always a great idea!

Defense is one of the areas of soccer that lots of people tend to neglect, but this is a poor way to approach soccer, as defense is actually just important as offense if you are hoping to win! Lots of people try to play the ball instead of playing the person when they are on defense, which is a big mistake; while the person you are guarding might be doing all sorts of fancy stuff with their feet, you will always be able to stop them if you are making sure that you are paying attention to their body, keeping them in front of you at all times!

Passing the ball is another big part of soccer; a team that can pass the ball well is a team that will always have a chance to win, and the best way to improve your passing skills is to get in the habit of passing to a spot, instead of passing to a person.

And of course, if no one on your team knows how to shoot, you are not going to win a lot of games; most people have a tendency to lean back too much when they shoot, and this causes the ball to soar high above the net. Shooting a soccer ball is less about power and more about placement, so keep your body low over the ball, and work on shooting the ball into a spot - acting as if you are "passing the ball into the net" - and you will soon find that you have no problem scoring!

How To Take Care Of Your Hot Tub

It is not uncommon to hear horror stories of pool maintenance; in fact, it is not uncommon to hear stories of one little goof - perhaps the wrong dosage of chemicals, or chemicals added at the wrong time, or chemicals forgotten - putting a pool out of commission for weeks. Many people imagine, on the other hand that hot tubs must be a dream to take care of compared to pools. After all, a hot tub is smaller, right? That must mean something. Plus, you don't have the sun shining on your hot tub all day. Hot tubs are probably a piece of cake to take care of; you can probably goof up on hot tubs all the time, and it will hardly even matter, right? Wrong!

Not only is hot tub maintenance more tedious than pool maintenance, but it is also far more important to keep up with. Because it is more difficult to keep levels balanced in a smaller amount of water, hot tubs are more difficult to keep balanced than pools. If you have a hot tub, of if you plan to have a hot tub in the future, remember: Keeping a treatment schedule is the best thing you can do.

When you keep a hot tub schedule, there will be things you need to do each day, things you need to do each week, and things you will have to do each month. Among the things you have to do each day is, you have to make sure your pH levels are balanced. It does not take long to check the pH levels, and as long as they are balanced, you will not have to do anything more each day as far as this goes. Checking it daily is vital, however, as things can swing drastically out of balance in a short span of time. Also, check the waterline every day (or, at least, check it every couple days). Weekly, you need to make sure you add all the important products such as oxidizer, non-chlorine shock, and foam reducer. The best way to remember to do this each week is to pick a specific day on which you will do these things each week. Finally, every month, you should give your hot tub's filters a thorough cleaning.

You, your family, and your friends can all have a lot of fun with your hot tub. And as long as you keep up with the simple, regular maintenance, a hot tub can be very easy to take care of. But if you fail to keep up with this simple maintenance, your hot tub is not likely to be any fun at all!
