Building Your Self Esteem And Self Confidence
If you are like the majority of people in the world, you carry around with you a handful of insecurities in your everyday life - and in all actuality, this is not such an awful thing, as these are often the things that make you uniquely you; at the same time, however, there are also people who let their insecurities take over - to a point where they have self esteem and self confidence problems that negatively affect every area of their lives - and if you can count yourself among such people (or if you know someone who could be counted within this category), it is important to know some ways to get rid of these debilitating insecurities. The first thing you will want to make sure you realize, if you struggle with self esteem, is that it will not only injure you to tie your sense of self to what other people think, but it is actually downright counterproductive; if you spend most of your time around others wondering what they are thinking of you, realize that most people you come in contact with are too busy worrying about what you think of them to even be able to form any serious opinions about you! Taking the time to write down a list of the things about yourself that you respect and appreciate can also go a long way in helping you - and even though this can be difficult to do at first, it can help a great deal once you have some items added to the list, as this will give you something to look at and feel encouraged about when the bad times come knocking. And finally, every person who struggles with self esteem issues should make sure that they have someone they can talk to - someone who will listen and provide encouragement (without engendering these negative feelings), as one such friend and confidant can help quite a bit.
