Tips For Saving Money On Keeping Your House Warm

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

The fact that it is difficult to keep a house warm without spending loads of money is one of the biggest problems people can deal with during the winter - and while it is, of course, important for you to have a house that is comfortable to be in, it is also important that you are able to make your house comfortable without going broke; for this reason, it is extremely useful to know a few of the things you can do to save money on keeping your house warm.

The fact that the heat people pour into their house ends up rushing outside is one reason why many people spend a lot more money than they should have to on keeping their house warm, being replaced by cold air. If you want to get the most out of the heat you are paying for, take the time to seal off the edges of your windows during the winter, and even consider sealing off your back door during the winter if you do not use it often.

Putting your heater on a schedule is another great way to save money on heating your house during the winter, so that you are not always paying so much to heat the house when you are not even home; for instance, if you feel that 70 degrees is the perfect temperature for your house, set your thermostat so that it keeps the house at about 65 degrees when you are gone during the day, and so that it only jumps up to 70 a bit before you are due to return home!

And consider picking up a few room heaters that you can use, in order to really keep your heating bills down; this will not work if you live in a large house, as you will spend more on electricity for these heaters than you would on heating your house normally, but if you have a smaller house (or if you spend the majority of your time in one room when you are at home), pick up a room heater, and watch as your heating bill starts to drop!

How To Stay Safe On A Road Trip

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

In addition to being plenty of fun, a road trip can also be more dangerous than many people imagine; most people think of a road trip as being no more dangerous than driving from one side of town to the other, but because of the manner in which your focus can slip and your mind can drift, it is important to know exactly what you should do in order to keep yourself safe on a road trip. Of course, each person will find that there are different things that work for them - keeping them focused, awake, and alert - but as you fiddle with a few things that will work for you, here are some things that will be helpful for you to keep in mind.

Plenty of road trippers try to drive from gas stop to gas stop, and this is the only time they get out of the car and walk around; they do this because they assume this speeds the trip along, but you should actually plan to stop at least once every two hours so you can get out and walk around, as this will keep you awake - which is far more important!

Also, you ought to consider stopping for short naps whenever you get tired, instead of just loading up on more caffeine; you can usually nap safely at rest stops during the day, and you can nap safely at most well-lit travel stops at any time of day or night.

And one often-neglected area of road tripping is the prudence of slowing down at nighttime; when you are on a long road trip, the last thing you want to do is hit a deer or another animal and injure your car and yourself - so slow down at night, and keep your eyes peeled!

When you are going to be driving long distances, keep your eyes open for things you can do to keep yourself awake and alert, and as you uncover the things that work for you, keep these three things in mind as well!

Gaining New Readers As A Writer

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

When you are trying to find success for yourself as a writer, one of the most important things for you to do (in fact, one of the most essential things for you to do!) is to be able to build a readership – finding people who will be loyal to you as a writer, and who will both purchase your book and tell others to purchase your book whenever it comes out. Back before the expansion of technology, writers had to rely on old-fashioned word of mouth in order to get the word out about their book, but nowadays, word of mouth can spread through a lot of different avenues, and making inroads in these avenues will be a big part of finding success as a writer.

Twitter is an excellent tool for you if you are wanting to connect and "interact" with readers; if you set up a Twitter account that focuses on writing (and writing-related issues and ideas), you will be able to connect with many others who have similar interests, and many of these same people may become loyal followers of yours.

Running a blog takes a little bit more time than using Twitter, but if you take the time and effort to put together a good blog – something that is informative, engaging, and entertaining – it will also be more effective than if you were to simply use Twitter.

Using Goodreads is another wonderful way to start building a bit of an audience with your writing; Goodreads is a social networking site with books at the center, and as you connect with other readers whose interests are similar to yours, you will also begin to stumble upon readers who are interested in reading your work.

If you take these steps toward building a readership long before you ever have a book that you are trying to sell, you will already have the readers in place when it comes time to release your book to the world – and you will reap the benefits of these seeds you have sown, as it will be much easier for you to land a publishing deal, and it will be much easier to sell copies of your book as well!

How To Deal With A Disobedient Cat

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

One of the toughest things for many peopl to do is get their cat to obey - after all, dogs tend to be extremely compliant as long as you get started training them early on, but cats are a whole different animal (both literally and figuratively!), as they tend to want to do things their own way; while it certainly is true that cats are more difficult to train than dogs, however, it is not true that they are impossible to train, as you simply need to know a few specific things in order to get your cat to obey!

Showing your cat who is boss is one of the big things for training a cat, as cats tend to get it in their heads that they are in charge of everything; when a cat is a kitten, their mother will carry them around by the scruff of the neck, and although you may not feel comfortable picking your cat up this way, holding onto the scruff of their neck (even when you are simply petting them every once in a while) can go a long way in letting them know that they are not the one in charge.

Just as you would do with a dog (or even with a young child), you will want to make sure the cat realizes they are "in trouble" when they indulge in bad behavior; there are several ways to do this (and it can be different for different cats), but the main thing is for you to find something that your cat dislikes - such as being sprayed with water, or having some sort of noise-maker shaken in front of them - and to do this to your cat when they are doing something they are not supposed to be doing.

image

And also in the same way you would handle a dog (or even a young child), you will want to reward your cat for good behavior as well; this can be a bit more difficult to do, as it can be tough to find a treat that your cat likes, but once you have found one, use this to reward your cat for good behavior! As you do these things more often, your cat will start doing the things you want them to do more and more often - until this good behavior eventually becomes habit for your cat!

Working On A Long-Term Project

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

For many people, one of the most difficult things in school or at work is knowing how to tackle a long-term project; of course, most people approach a long-term project thinking that they will work on it a little bit at a time each day until the project is complete, but this plan often evaporates, until the deadline for the project is right around the corner and they have not worked on it at all - and it is for this exact reason that understanding how to properly conquer a long-term project is so important!

When faced with a long-term project, the first thing you should do is break the project down into sections, and then separate these sections into even smaller pieces; take a bit of time to estimate exactly how long each of these smaller pieces will likely take to complete, as this will give you a good feel for how much time you will need to spend on the project as a whole (and make sure you are overestimating rather than underestimating, as it is better to have some extra time left over than to not have enough!).

With the project broken down into sections in this way, you will be able to set a deadline for when you should have each section completed; once you have "due dates" set for each section, you will be able to take a closer look at your calendar and decide when you will work on the smaller pieces that will build up to the completion of the section.

And at this point, one problem a lot of people face is that they fail to look at their self-set deadlines as if they are real deadlines; while you are certainly not required to turn in your work at these self-created deadlines, you need to realize that these deadlines are important to you if you hope to complete the project on time - so as you work toward these deadlines, treat them as if they were assigned for the project itself, as this will encourage you to keep up with them and complete the project on time.

As you apply this approach more often, you will become better and better at taking care of long-term projects - and there is no better time to get started on this approach than the next time a long-term project comes your way!

Tips For Making A Great Sandwich

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

Some people go through years of their life thinking they do not like sandwiches, simply because they have yet to experience a truly great sandwich. Sandwiches are easy to make, easy to bring with you, and relatively inexpensive, which makes them great for anyone who adores them. Sandwiches are great for lunch, for snacks, and - if you know how to make a really mean sandwich - they're great for dinner as well! If you thought that there is nothing more to the sandwich than just throwing some meat on some bread, it is time for you to think again.

The most important foundational block of a sandwich is the quality of the materials you use to make it. You will spend a bit of extra money shopping at a store such as Whole Foods for your sandwich materials, but this bit of extra money will make a big difference in taste. Organic bread and organic meats taste much fresher and fuller than anything you can buy that has been overprocessed and underpriced. The taste of your sandwich will also be much improved if you go with organically grown vegetables when you construct your daily masterpiece.

Sandwiches can sometimes be dry, which means that it is also important to consider what you are using to moisten your sandwich. A good sandwich goes down easy instead of sticking to the inside of your mouth; whether you use something as simple as mayo or salad dressing or something more complex, figure out the way you prefer to moisten your sandwich.

And of course, it is important for you to know exactly what flavors go well together if you want to construct a great sandwich. It might seem silly to buy a sandwich cookbook, but once you delve into the treasure chest of a book such as 'wichcraft: Craft a Sandwich into a Meal--And a Meal into a Sandwich, you will surely understand.

Regardless of whether you use sandwiches for lunch, snacks, or even for dinner, they can be a great addition to your eating pleasures; first, however, you have to learn and understand what it takes to make a great sandwich!

Taking Good Care Of Your Fountain Pen

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

You are probably thrilled with yourself and with your purchase if you recently invested in a fountain pen. A good fountain pen can swoop you back to an era before computers. Fountain pens write smoothly, and they do so without making your hand or wrist ache at all. It even sometimes seems as though a fountain pen enables you to express your thoughts more clearly than you ever could with a computer or a ballpoint pen! But if you recently purchased a fountain pen, there is also a chance that you have come to be frustrated with your purchase. Maybe the ink in your pen has started sticking. Perhaps this new pen of yours is not really writing as smoothly as you expected. You might even have a pen where no ink is coming out at all. If any of these things are happening to you, it might be time for you to learn some things about taking care of your fountain pen.

When you store your fountain pen, the point should always be facing upward - this is one of the first things you should know. If you fail to do this, you will find the ink drying in the nib. Also, you should always keep the cap on your fountain pen whenever it is not in use. This will also help to make sure ink is not drying in the nib.

Do not shake the pen like you would with a regular pen, if the ink gets stuck. Do not start scraping it all across the paper, pressed down really hard! Both of these are bad for your fountain pen. Instead, just take off the back end of the pen, and push the ink down toward the nib just a little bit. Your pen will start writing just fine once you do this, as this will open up the nib.

Finally, remember that you have this fountain pen so that you can write smoothly and easily, without always pressing down so hard. Not only will you negate the benefits of a fountain pen if you get yourself in the habit of pressing down really hard with it, but you will also hurt your pen so that it eventually will no longer work like it is supposed to.

For anyone who enjoys journaling or keeping thoughts in a notebook, there are few joys as wonderful as a fountain pen. And if you learn how to reat your fountain pen, it can be a treat for you for a long, long time.

How To Endure A Long Road Trip

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

There are times, when it comes to travel, where it truly makes more sense to drive somewhere than to fly - such as when you are traveling between two cities that are only 5 or 6 hours away, or when the trip is a bit longer, but you are traveling with so many people that it is a lot cheaper to drive than to fly - but then, there are also those times when it makes no real sense to drive, but when you nevertheless find yourself driving anyway! One instance of such trips is those road trips that last anywhere from 20 to 30 hours - and even though you might save a bit of money on such a trip if you are splitting the gas several ways, these trips can be tough to endure if you do not take the right approach.

image

One thing that can particularly make a long road trip tough to endure is the strain it puts on your back; most people fail to think about this until it is too late, but you can safe yourself a lot of trouble (and a lot of discomfort!) on a long road trip if you simply bring something - such as a small pillow, or even such as a true back support - that you can put behind your back when you drive.

Another thing that will help a drive pass more quickly is if you have things to do; if you are in the passenger seat at any time, this can mean bringing a book to read or a crossword puzzle to work on, or even a movie to watch on your computer - while if you are driving, this can mean bringing having a project you are trying to think through in your head, or bringing audio books that can keep you occupied as you drive.

And the most important thing of all in trying to endure a long road trip is that you stop frequently; the more frequently you stop, the better you will feel each time you get back on the road, so even though you will not want to lose the time you will lose from stopping, it will be well worth it for the new energy you will have!

Feeding Hummingbirds

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

It is very enjoyable to have hummingbirds in your yard. These birds have such a large personality for such a cute little bird. There is nothing more entertaining then working in your garden only to find a little hummingbird waiting patiently for you to move away from their flowers so they can eat. You can make a great environment for these birds by combining feeds are strategically planting your gardens.

One of the easiest things you can do is put out a few feeders. There are quite a few feeders you can choose from. There are feeders that sit in your garden on poles that look like flowers. There are feeders that we are all familiar with seeing that hang from eaves or from shepherd’s hooks. There are also very ornate feeders that may fit artistic tastes better. Feeding them sugar water with red food coloring isn't quite okay for hummingbirds. What you really should feed them is specially made nector.

The second thing that can really attract hummingbirds to your yard is having a wide variety of flowers planted. Most trumpet shaped flowers are great for hummingbirds. Trumpet vine, honeysuckle, and cardinal flowers are very attractive food sources.

Hummingbirds are very attracted to the color red so if you can find any flowers in red that will really help the little hummingbirds out. Other good options for feeding the birds and bees is foxglove, bee balm, columbine, and lupine.

Providing them hiding spots is another way to help them stick around. Bushes, shade trees, and fruit trees allow the birds a place to nest and rest. They are a great bird and such a pleasure to have in the yard. You can even get a number of them to settle into your yard if you are lucky.

Revealing Three Tips For Effortless Weight Loss

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

One issue many people deal with is that they have a desire to lose weight, but regardless of how strong this desire is, they seem unable to actually do this; one of the reasons why many people face this problem is that, as much as they want to lose weight, they fail to gather the knowledge they need in order to make this happen – so make sure this is not a mistake you are making yourself!

Even though this might feel as though it is counterintuitive, one of the best ways to lose weight is actually to exercise less; when you do low intensity workouts, and when you replace jogging with walking, you also keep your body from having the cravings they can have after a difficult workout – cravings for things like bread and sugar that you will want to avoid when trying to lose weight.

Running in a similar vein as the idea of exercising less is the idea of eating more; of course, if you want to lose weight, you will not want to simply eat more of everything, but realize that getting more of the right foods is better than eating less of the wrong foods – so replace those breads and sugars with vegetables, fruits, meat, and nuts, and you will start seeing those pounds disappear more quickly than you could have imagined.

And finally, realize that relaxing more is a big part of helping your body lose weight; when you are more relaxed – and when you spend more time relaxing outside in the sun – you will both boost your immune system and lower your stress level, which will both go a long way in making it easier for your body to shed those unwanted pounds.

Losing weight is really not that difficult at all, as long as you are taking the right approach, so remember to start exercising less, eating more (of the right foods, of course), and relaxing more, and soon those unwanted pounds will no longer be a problem for you at all!

Eliminate Problems with Office Staplers

Your 2016 years earning plan: STEP -BY-STEP

Within an office working environment there are many things that annoy people on a daily basis. For most people the biggest source of this annoyance is a boss, but devices that are used on a daily basis contribute as well. Many are far too familiar with the little hiccups in these devices that can ruin a day. A malfunctioning stapler is one of the main device issues. A stapler that constantly jams up or fails to drive through all the sheets can be supremely annoying. A great idea is to get an automatic stapler since it is able to eliminate these failures with consistency.

One of the top names in tool manufacturing is company called Stanley Bostitch. Hardware supply stores from around the country feature Stanley products more than others. It is no surprise that Stanley makes a stapler for office use when you consider that they make some of the best heavy duty staplers on the market. For most office applications the Full Strip 20 Sheet Capacity Stapler with Anti-Jam Mechanism is perfect. The basic job a stapler needs to do is performed without flaw since this stapler removes many common problems.

The electronic design of this stapler means that stapling can be done without delay. Stapling multiple documents in a row will be great for anyone who may need this feature. It fires staples by using an optical sensor. This means as soon as a document trips the sensor, the mechanism will staple the sheet. It can staple up to 20 sheets at a time which makes it efficient for many large groups of papers. Inside of the stapler there is also a floating core to help prevent jams. Overall this stapler should be able to suit your office perfectly. It won't be necessary to spend time on a stack of documents making sure they are properly secured any longer!
