Helping Your Kids Get Organized

The truth about making money from home

Parents know the feeling of wanting to pull out their hair when it comes to getting their kids to pick up their rooms. No one, including adults, really like to clean, but children find it particularly daunting. It is important for parents to give their children the best chance as possible to learn cleaning skills. There are a number of products that can really help with this.

I know my kids closets were always a mess until we purchased an closet organizational system. Put a hanger bar (or a set of hanger bars) just at their level. Rubbermaid puts out a great closet system that fits anywhere from a four foot to an eight foot closet, and is quite adjustable. With hanger bars being able to be dropped to your childs level, not only should you have less broken hangers, but you probably won't end up with as many clothes on the ground. Furthermore, with the hanger at their level they can begin to put their own clothing away.

You can purchase any number of very neatly colored fabric baskets for clothing that can’t be hung such as underwear and socks. Baskets can also be purchased that are larger for things like blankets and stuffed animals. These baskets can be purchased in a good number of different colors to appeal to your childs sense of style. These boxes are eye catching and may make organization a bit easier for your child.

Toys are typically a big issue for kid’s rooms. Having a toy storage system can be of great help in keeping the toys under control. If you have ever had one big toy box, you may know that every toy will end up on the foor, because the one toy they want is at the very bottom of the box. Smaller bins can help make it less likely that every toy will end up on the floor. Your kids will get to create their own organizational system here.

It seems like giving your children a way to keep their closets and rooms manageable is the best way to begin to teach them this important skill. Once children learn how easy it can be to organize, you may be surprised how well they take to it. Plus the kids will enjoy having the room to actually play in their room.
