For instance, is your target market typically affluent, or are they more likely to be middle-class? Are you selling your product to males or females, to married people or single people? Are they white collar workers or blue collar workers? By breaking your target market down into smaller pieces, you will have a better understanding of how to market to them. Finally, you need to actually take the time to do your research! A lot of businesses miss the important step of uncovering all the little things that will help them, because they already think they know everything.
